Meet the Team – Iain Graham
We recently sat down with Iain Graham, who has been with us since 2005, to talk about what working for The Minibus Centre looks like.
As Area Sales Manager, Iain takes care of enquiries and ongoing orders and keeps in touch with clients, working as the first point of contact for our key partners.
What does a normal day in the office look like?
A lot of our business is through schools and community transport trusts that want to lease our minibuses, so we deal closely with the leasing companies. On a day-to-day basis, we organise paperwork, confirm build dates and organise the delivery of new vehicles. We also like to stay in touch with our key customers, suppliers and leasing companies.
I also regularly attend trade shows and events such as the Schools and Academies show where we provide live demonstrations of our vehicles to those who attend.
What other aspects does your role cover?
As an Area Sales Manager, I am often out of the office too! At The Minibus Centre, we cover the whole of the UK along with our leasing partners. If there are any free local demonstrations to be done, we book them in and take the vehicle down at a time that suits the organisation. We regularly go out to demonstrate the minibuses to show clients how the seats come in and out, or how to operate the wheelchair access. I like the face-to-face interaction.
What would you say is the highlight of your job?
The highlight of my job is looking at the end result and seeing how life-changing these products can be. The benefit to the end user, along with meeting different people during the demonstrations and building a rapport, I really enjoy that.
Remember that it’s not just the 17-seat FlexiLite™ lightweight minibus we offer. We can also provide a range of other wheelchair accessible and standard minibuses. To see the functionality and the joy of what can be a major resource to schools, care homes and community organisations is probably my favourite part of the role.
