“Balfron High School is pretty rural – about halfway between Glasgow and Stirling – so we have a wide catchment area, with pupils from satellite villages such as Drymen, Killearn, Fintry, Buchlyvie and Kippen. We see sports participation and educational excursions as crucial to young people’s development, so we like to get out and about as much as possible.
We’d been leasing a minibus we could drive with some MIDAS training, but we realised it would make more sense to own one. After some Googling, it was clear The Minibus Centre had what we were looking for – a versatile, lightweight minibus adaptable to a range of needs, that could be driven on a standard car licence. As soon as we got in touch, they were really insightful and supportive. They helped us choose the right model and the right features. They even showed us how to use the ramp. They’re all different, and all confusing at first, so that was a nice touch.
We’ve already used it a lot. It’s motivated us to plan more trips and use a minibus more, so we’re connecting young people to a wider range of places, activities and experiences. And we know The Minibus Centre is there for us if we ever need anything else.”
