The Minibus Centre is part of Allied Vehicles Group, a leader in the field of safety testing and certification for special purpose vehicles. We have been instrumental in enhancing construction guidelines for wheelchair accessible vehicles, both in the UK and across Europe.
Certification Standards
All of our standard wheelchair accessible vehicles, as detailed on this website, are designed and tested to the highest safety standards, namely:
- European Whole Vehicle Type Approval
- PAS 2012 (Manufacturing Requirements for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles)
Allied Vehicles is a member of the following organisations:
- Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)
- Community Transport Association
The Allied Vehicles Group is also a partner of the See Inside Manufacturing (SIM) initiative led by Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).
Bespoke Conversions
We offer detailed advice to ensure that your minibus, incident unit or special purpose vehicle conversion complies with relevant industry standards and required safety testing.
Our minibus conversions, for example, utilise tracked floors, seats, wheelchair restraints and seat belts which are tested to meet EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval standard. In addition, all of our vehicles are supplied with appropriate certification – either Individual Type Approval or Certificate of Initial Fitness.
